2. Use a waterproof watch

Is your watch water resistant? Before swimming or showering with your watch, find out how water resistant your watch is.

Here are the types of water resistance:

– 30M / 3ATM: Water resistant

When exposing your watch to water, be sure to wipe it off with a dry cloth. To avoid condensation, make sure the crown is in the correct position; some crowns need to be screwed in to ensure they close properly and to ensure the crystal and case are free of cracks. Also, if your watch has recently been repaired, have it checked for water resistance and pressure tested.

Many brands offer water-resistant watches such as Citizen, G-Shock, Seiko… suitable for water sports activities. The strap designs are also different, from stainless steel to leather, silicone. When wearing a watch in water, you must understand that although the case may be water-resistant, the strap is not.
